Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, or using QuakeReady ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Description of Service
QuakeReady is a family earthquake preparedness application that provides:
- Real-time earthquake alerts and seismic data visualization
- Personalized emergency plan creation tools
- Emergency contact management
- Preparedness kit tracking
- Survival and recovery guides
Important Disclaimers
Not a Replacement for Official Emergency Services
QuakeReady is an informational and preparedness tool. It is NOT a substitute for official emergency alerts, services, or professional advice. Always follow instructions from local emergency management agencies, first responders, and official government alerts.
Earthquake Data Accuracy
Earthquake data is sourced from USGS, EMSC, FEMA, and other public agencies. While we strive for accuracy:
- Data may be delayed, incomplete, or subject to revision
- Magnitude and location estimates may change after initial reporting
- We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any earthquake data
- You should verify critical information through official sources
No Guarantee of Alerts
We cannot guarantee that earthquake alerts will be delivered in time, or at all. Alert delivery depends on network connectivity, device settings, and third-party infrastructure. Do not rely solely on QuakeReady for life-safety decisions.
Subscriptions
Plans and Pricing
- Free Tier: Basic earthquake alerts and limited features
- Monthly: $6.99/month
- Annual: $39.99/year
- Lifetime: $99.99 one-time payment
Auto-Renewal
Monthly and Annual subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings.
Refunds
Refunds are handled by Apple according to their App Store refund policy. We do not process refunds directly.
Donations
10% of subscription revenue is donated to organizations providing earthquake relief and preparedness services. Donation recipients are selected at our discretion and may change over time.
User Accounts
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account
- You may not share your account credentials with others
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of the App are owned by QuakeReady and protected by international copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App.
User Content
Emergency plans, contacts, and other data you create in the App remain your property. By using the App, you grant us a limited license to store and process this data solely to provide the service.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, QuakeReady and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
- Personal injury or property damage resulting from earthquakes or other emergencies
- Failure to receive or act upon earthquake alerts
- Inaccurate or delayed earthquake data
- Loss of data or service interruptions
- Reliance on emergency plans or preparedness information provided by the App
Our total liability for any claims under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which QuakeReady operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify users of significant changes through the App.
