QuakeReady ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Account Information: Email address and display name when you create an account.
• Family Plans: Emergency plans, meeting points, evacuation routes, and household details you create within the app.
• Emergency Contacts: Names, phone numbers, and relationships of contacts you add.
• Preparedness Data: Kit items and task completion status you track.

Information Collected Automatically

• Location Data: With your permission, we collect your location to show nearby earthquakes and calculate distances. Location data is processed on-device and not stored on our servers beyond what's needed for earthquake alerts.
• Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and app version for compatibility and crash reporting.
• Usage Analytics: Anonymous usage patterns to improve the app experience. We use PostHog for analytics.

Third-Party Data Sources

• Earthquake Data: We aggregate seismic data from the United States Geological Survey (USGS), European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), and other public sources. This data is publicly available and not personally identifiable.

How We Use Your Information

• Provide and maintain the app's core features
• Send earthquake alerts relevant to your location
• Enable family plan sharing and emergency contact features
• Process subscriptions through RevenueCat
• Improve app performance and user experience
• Send important service updates

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase (built on PostgreSQL) with:

• Row-level security policies ensuring you can only access your own data
• Encrypted connections (TLS) for all data in transit
• Authentication tokens stored securely on-device using encrypted storage

Subscription and Billing

Subscriptions are managed through RevenueCat and processed by Apple's App Store. We do not store or have access to your payment information. RevenueCat's privacy policy applies to billing data.

Family Data

Emergency plans and contact information you create are stored in your account. If you use family sharing features, shared data is only accessible to family members you explicitly invite.

Data Retention

• Your data is retained as long as your account is active
• You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app settings
• Upon account deletion, all personal data is permanently removed within 30 days

Children's Privacy

QuakeReady is designed for family use but is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Family plan features are managed by adult account holders.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your account and data
• Export your data
• Opt out of analytics tracking

Changes to This Policy
